Every holiday is labour day.

One of the negative side affects of living in a resort town is that holidays represent the busiest days of the year and thus the worst days to work. I definitely do not look forward to holidays now. Today is the 4th of July. Not a holiday I'd be excited about anyway, given me cynicism with our country. But now, it represents the time when a ton of up-tight LA people come into town with their kids they didn't raise and thus can't control. They'll drive angrily around town hitting each other and other things, but trying to run instead of find out what happened. I moved away from LA to get away from their discourteousness. A couple days a year, they bring it up with them. Our town is probably triple its population today. Oh well. Gotta just get through it.

I'll be busy the next couple days as I work long hours to get through this time. There likely will be no updates til next week. Sorry.

I consider my self a lucky man. I'm lucky because any time I'm feeling good about myself I always have Adam's Blogs to keep me level headed. How LA people suck, the rich are unfairly rich, the country is in peril...yeah, I'm fortunate to have Adam to keep me grounded.

Gam, That's awesome. True even.

I'm like your Michelle :) I guess I seem unecessarily down on LA, but I really do like LA. Even when I lived there, there was a group of people that I disliked. Unfortunately, those are the people that come up here and visit. Certainly not everyone in LA is bad. Your not rich enough to be bad yet of course. But I still have faith! :)

Just be thankful you only spend your weekends with those assholes. Some Folks have to put up with them 5 days a week.

Labour?
In my country we say "Labor"!
We may not know what it means, but we say it!

Were you not aware of this when you moved to Mammoth? Did you think Mammoth was indigineous to the rest of the world? The situation you find yourself in has existed for quite a long time, though it's just gotten worse. On the other hand, Mammoth needs the tourism to keep all the soap box bloggers employed. I agree that people have lost all patience and civility. The spirit of America should be the Spirit of Me, unless there's a National Crisis.

I didn't know what to think when I moved to Mammoth. I thought it was a 'small town'. I know it was naive. On the other hand, the justification that we need endless tourists to give people like me jobs is a poor one. Mammoth existed before it got crazy with rich tourists and it employed people like me. Maybe its just that the type of tourists who are coming up are changing now that Intrawest is promoting it. Mammoth was never like Aspen, but it is quickly becoming it.

But I don't understand your comment "The Spirit of America SHOULD be the Spirit of Me, unless there's a National Crisis." Why should we strive to live in a selfish society? Why not desire a more community driven one?
