Knowing why you don't know.

Its important to be open to new information. Often we find something we thought was true turns out not to be true, or something we thought wasn't true, turns out to be true. Learning these things is important, but it is almost EQUALLY important to investigate WHY you had it wrong. How did you learn the mistruth? Why did you accept it. Often, determining the how and why will have far larger and longer lasting consequences than the corrected mistruth.
